The Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences and North Ossetia have agreed to join forces to protect and restore rare animal species in the republic. An agreement on cooperation in the field of biodiversity conservation was signed at the Russia exhibition. This was announced on its website by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of North Ossetia.
"Together with North Ossetian scientists, environmentalists and residents of the republic, we are successfully implementing a program for the restoration of the Central Asian leopard in the Caucasus. In continuation of this project, this agreement will contribute to the development of new environmental projects to restore the ecosystem and rare animal species," said Academician Vyacheslav Rozhnov, whose words are given in the message.
For her part, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Republic Yulia Khludeeva promised to make every effort to achieve the goals of the agreement and preserve animal biodiversity in North Ossetia.
