Amidst the volatile geopolitical landscape and global challenges, Norilsk Nickel has not only demonstrated resilience and adherence to its strategic priorities but has also achieved significant results in the area of sustainable development. The company's 2023 report serves as a testament to the inseparable link between environmental initiatives, social programs, and long-term business success.

In 2023, the company took a decisive step towards implementing the Sulfur Program at the Nadezhda Metallurgical Plant – the largest environmental project in Russia. The program's launch will allow for a 45% reduction in SO2 emissions in the Norilsk Industrial District, becoming a landmark event in protecting the environment and improving the quality of life for people in the region.

In parallel, the company continued to implement the program for cleaning up the territory from historical pollution.Over the year, 1 million tonnes of waste were collected, more than 80,000 tonnes of scrap metal were dismantled, 347 objects were dismantled, and more than 4.1 million m2 of territories were cleaned up. This large-scale work is a clear confirmation of Norilsk Nickel's commitment to the principles of responsible environmental management.
