In 2023, the company took a decisive step towards implementing the Sulfur Program at the Nadezhda Metallurgical Plant – the largest environmental project in Russia. The program's launch will allow for a 45% reduction in SO2 emissions in the Norilsk Industrial District, becoming a landmark event in protecting the environment and improving the quality of life for people in the region.
In parallel, the company continued to implement the program for cleaning up the territory from historical pollution.Over the year, 1 million tonnes of waste were collected, more than 80,000 tonnes of scrap metal were dismantled, 347 objects were dismantled, and more than 4.1 million m2 of territories were cleaned up.
