The press service of the Moscow Zoo reported that the Active Citizen portal has launched a vote on choosing a name for the first big panda cub born in Russia. According to the metropolitan authorities, more than 100 thousand citizens took part in it during the first day.

Muscovites can vote for one of the ten possible names. Among them are two popular Russian names, well-known in China: Katyusha and Masha. In addition, the baby can get the name Zheng Zhu – Pearl, Hong Xing – Red Star, Bai Hoa – White Birch, Jing Ding – Golden–headed, Xiao Ula – Little Hurrah, Ai Min - Love for the people. There are also variants of Xiao Mo, which means Little Mo, and Mo Mo.

The official website of the mayor of Moscow reported that the vote was launched not by chance right now. According to Chinese tradition, pandas are named 100 days after birth. In November, the baby turned three months old. She grew her first teeth, began to crawl and actively studies the world around her. The panda already weighs six kilograms, and its length from the tip of its nose to the base of its tail is 60.5 centimeters.
