This year, it again shared the first place with the Moscow region. Tula region is in second place, Nizhny Novgorod region is in third place.
The rating allows you to assess how things are in the regions of the country with the provision of municipal services for the treatment of MSW, to get acquainted with the pace of implementation of separate waste collection. In addition, attention is paid to the assessment of the implementation of measures for environmental education of the population.
Experts take into account how many residents of the region resort to separate waste accumulation. An important place in the rating is given to explanatory work with citizens, conducting environmental actions and events, and the participation of volunteer movements. In addition, the level of social satisfaction with the treatment of MSW, plans to reduce their burial by 2024 and the continuity of the service were assessed.
The separate garbage collection program has been implemented in Moscow since 2020. In the first nine months of this year, about 1.2 million tons of recycled materials were used for recycling. This indicator is growing every year.
