Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved a list of instructions in the field of tourism development. The document is published on the Kremlin website.
According to one of them, the Russian government needs to develop and approve an action plan for the development of car tourism in the areas where the M-11 "Neva" and M-12 "Vostok" highways pass. Particular attention should be paid to organizing exits from these highways and developing adjacent highways, creating tourist attractions and forming hiking trails, including in specially protected natural areas. Also among the priorities in this area is the development of collective accommodation facilities.
The government's report on this instruction should be ready by December 1 of this year.
The M-11 "Neva" expressway leads from Moscow to St. Petersburg, most of the sections on it are toll.
The M-12 "Vostok" highway is a toll highway under construction between Moscow and Tyumen. The Moscow-Kazan section has already been built, the section to Yekaterinburg is planned to be completed this year, and traffic to Tyumen is expected to be launched in 2025.
The route of the under construction highway passes through Vladimir, Murom, Arzamas, Kazan, Yekaterinburg.
