1.4 million foreign tourists visited the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in 2023, the National Institute of Statistics reported.

This is a record for one of the smallest states of the European Union with a population of only about 700,000 people: never before has Luxembourg been visited by so many travelers from abroad.

The country is most popular with tourists from Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain and Portugal.

The share of the tourism industry in Luxembourg's GDP is 0.8%. In 2022, the expenses of foreign travelers brought more than 3.7 billion euros to the treasury.

Luxembourg's tourism industry currently employs over 40,000 people, including 95% of full-time employees and 5% of the self-employed. Their total number has increased by 30% in one decade.
