Evening illumination appeared in the Lena Pillars National Park (Yakutia) - special LED lights were installed along the gigantic rock formations at a distance of 500 meters. The light highlights the unique shape and texture of the famous pillars. The park staff promise a mesmerizing effect that will immerse guests in an atmosphere of magic.
"We invite everyone to enjoy this amazing sight and immerse themselves in the world of mystery and beauty of the Lena Pillars under the light of the lights," a message on the park's website says.
The Lena Pillars National Park is one of the main symbols of Yakutia and the most recognizable local landmark included in the UNESCO Natural Heritage List.
Here are the famous rock formations - pillars, representing numerous remnants of the destruction of bedrock. The length of the rocks is more than 40 km, and the height in some places reaches 220 m. From a distance, the pillars seem to be a monolithic wall that descends steeply into the river.
In the park you can see bison included in the Red Book of the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
There is also the Buotama River, where fossils (lagerstettes) dating back to the Early Cambrian period (about 542 million years ago), and sand dunes (tukulans), and the ancient human site "Deering Yuryakh", which is about 370 thousand years old. Rock carvings, geological and cultural monuments can be found in the Lena Pillars.
