The Middle East, North Africa and South Asia are recognized as regions of the world where "the feeling of happiness only decreases with each year". This follows from the World Happiness Report published on March 20, the annual World Happiness Report, which is being prepared by a group of experts commissioned by the United Nations.

The most unhappy countries in the Arab region are Lebanon, Yemen and Egypt. Moreover, Lebanon has been awarded this unenviable title for the third year in a row, Egypt for the second. And Israel turned out to be the happiest in the Middle East and the seventh in the world ranking.

Finland has held the championship in the ranking of the happiest countries in the world for the seventh year in a row. Afghanistan was recognized as the most unhappy state, which took the last, 143rd, line. Russia is in 72nd place in this ranking.

The study took into account data for the last two years on such indicators as standard of living, per capita income, freedom, social security, healthy life expectancy and perception of corruption.
