The largest water park in Russia is planned to be built in the "Prokshino" sports and tourism cluster in New Moscow. A cooperation agreement on this issue was signed by the Tourism.RF corporation, DOM.RF bank and A101 Group at the St.Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The total area of the water park will be about 125.5 thousand square meters. It will consist of three main zones - a water park, a diving center and a surfing center.
"One of the unique entertainments of the water park will be the first artificial canyoning zone in the Moscow region - a sport in which interesting routes along canyons must be overcome not only by swimming, but also by rock climbing, rope descents and jumps into the water. In addition, the water park will have children's pools with slides, water attractions and a wave pool for adults, as well as a thermal zone," the statement on the Tourism.RF website says.
As the corporation noted, the professional diving center with a variable depth pool of up to 25 meters will be the deepest in the Moscow region. Such objects are usually departmental and therefore closed to the public, and the diving center in "Prokshino" will be available to everyone. It will be used for diving training, freediving from scratch, regular training for athletes, as well as for holding sporting events. As for the surfing center, it will be equipped with a system for creating artificial waves up to 2.5 m high, where beginners will be able to try a new sport, and experienced athletes will be able to hone their skills or learn new tricks in a safe environment. In addition, a four-star hotel with 254 rooms and a spa center will open in the water park.
The project is financed by DOM.RF Bank within the framework of a preferential lending program, the volume of investments in the project is at least 20 billion rubles.
It is expected that the resort will be visited by more than a million people annually, not only residents of the capital, but also tourists from all over Russia.
