The results of the "Clean Ice of Baikal. Garbage in Exchange for a Gift" campaign, which was held from February 12 to April 14, have been summarized in the Zabaikalsky National Park (Buryatia). This was reported on its website by the Roszapovedcenter.

"In 2024, Baikal became cleaner by almost 260 bags of garbage: that's how much was handed in from February to April. It is noteworthy that this figure is twice as much as last year," the statement says.

The start of the campaign was announced in February on the website of the FGBSU "Zapovednoe Podlemorie".

On the territory of the Zabaikalsky National Park, participants collected garbage in bags, which they handed over to the state inspector and received gifts.

The "Clean Ice of Baikal. Garbage in Exchange for a Gift" campaign has been held in the national park since 2012.

The event is designed to draw attention to the problem of garbage on Baikal and develop a waste sorting system in a specially protected natural area, raise the level of environmental culture of visitors to the national park, and maintain cleanliness on the shores and ice cover of the lake.
