Kislovodsk is recognized as the National Park of the Year

The National Park "Kislovodsk" (Stavropol Territory) became the winner of the Parks of Russia award. He won the nomination "National Park of the Year". Roszapovedcenter reported this on its website.

"The holding of the All-Russian Parks of Russia Award is aimed at supporting and developing the country's park industry," the message says.

The Kislovodsk Park originates from the center of the famous resort town and, gradually expanding, goes to the southeast, and then to the slopes of the Jinalsky ridge.

According to the information on the website of the natural territory, the park is a unique, the rarest monument of landscape architecture, a therapeutic arboretum, where local and exotic species of trees and shrubs are collected.

"The park's green spaces, along with hydromineral and climatic resources, create the necessary level of comfort for treatment and recreational recreation," the park's website says.

In 1901, for the first time in Russia, a route for therapeutic walking was laid in the Kislovodsk Resort Park - terrenkur. A system of tracks of varying complexity was planned, running at a certain slope, along which people with different health conditions can effortlessly climb to significant heights.

The total length of the terrencourt tracks is 24.3 km. Their main purpose is the treatment of patients with cardiovascular pathology, diseases of the respiratory system, digestion, support and movement, as well as with various metabolic disorders. The routes are divided into three categories according to length, angle of ascent, pace of walking and frequency of rest.

The park has a suspended single-span cable car with a length of 1743 m.

The presentation of the Parks of Russia Award took place on April 3 as part of the IV International Exhibition and Conference ParkSeason Expo 2024. The issues of creating, maintaining and developing a comfortable urban environment, recreation parks, public spaces and specially protected natural areas were discussed there.

The co-organizer of the business program "ParkSeason Expo 2024", dedicated to the development of specially protected natural areas, was the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia and Roszapovedcenter.
