The annual ecological and sports competition "Reserved Ski Track" will be held on March 1 on the territory of the central estate of the Katunsky Biosphere Reserve in the village of Ust-Koksa in Altai. This is reported on the reserve's website.
"The event is held in order to attract public attention to the conservation of rare species of animals in the region, the development and popularization of skiing in the Altai Republic, as well as the promotion of an active and healthy lifestyle," the message says.
Everyone aged 7 and over can take part in the races. The race distances are from 700 to 2000 meters. The field kitchen will work.
In addition, environmental games will be held as part of the sports festival.
Participants discussed the boundary between nature and ecotourism, whether mass visits to unique areas can remain safe, the responsibilities of investors, and how to prepare tourists for visiting specially protected natural areas.
The head of state expressed confidence that the Forum will be held at a high level, and that its results will contribute to the development of tourism in Russia and the expansion of humanitarian and business ties.
