The international competition "Lake – mirror of Nature" will be held from March 15 to April 15. It is organized by the Katun Biosphere Reserve (Russia), the Katon-Karagai National Park (Kazakhstan) and the Karatal Zhapyryk Nature Reserve (Kyrgyzstan). This children's art competition is designed to expand the knowledge of the younger generation about specially protected natural areas, promote the education of ecological culture and respect for nature, the Katunsky Reserve said on its website.
"Drawings depicting lakes are accepted for the competition at any time of the year, conveying the uniqueness of these natural objects. The lakes are one of the most picturesque reservoirs and represent not only the accumulation of water in the basin, but also the habitat of many living organisms," the message says.
Students of educational organizations of the Altai Republic, East Kazakhstan and Naryn regions are invited to participate.
"By tradition, the best works will be included in the international exhibition of children's creativity, which will be exhibited in the visiting centers of the Katun Biosphere Reserve, the Karatal Zhapyryk Reserve and the Katon-Karagai National Park," the message says.
The all-Russian count of waterfowl and waterbirds, known as the "Grey Neck" project, will take place on January 18-19, the third weekend of the month. The Russian Bird Conservation Union announced this on its website
