The resort fee in the Olympic capital is paid by tourists when staying in accommodation facilities. They started charging it in 2018. From 2022, the fee is 50 rubles.

– Over the entire period, more than a billion rubles of resort tax were collected in Sochi. As of September 1, about 300 million rubles have been collected in 2023. All these funds are invested in the improvement of the resort territory,” emphasized the mayor of Sochi, Alexey Kopaygorodsky.

Taking into account the funds of the Resort Infrastructure Fund and the city budget, 540.3 million rubles are provided for the improvement of the territory in 2023. These funds are aimed at improving the pedestrian zone along the Eastern Dagomys River, installing small architectural forms in public areas, updating the entrance to Lovers' Square and installing video surveillance systems on city beaches. Over the next three years, using resort fees in Sochi, large-scale improvement of public spaces is planned, including the embankments of the Mzymta and Matsesta rivers. It is also planned to replace the paving stones on the sidewalks and improve the Komsomolsky square.
