Hotel occupancy in Montreal dropped to 1-2%

Hotel occupancy in Montreal has decreased to 1-2% due to the situation with the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection. Most of the hotels were forced to suspend operations, and only those that are part of the logistics support system of the authorities remain open, local media write.

The fact that hoteliers are looking forward to the end of the period of restrictive measures and the return of tourists in the evening is clearly evidenced by the hearts on the facades of hotels, which form rooms with lights on.

The tourism organization Tourisme Montréal hopes that the influx of tourists will resume in the fourth quarter of this year.

As a result of the COVID-19 crisis, tens of thousands of hotel industry workers in Canada's second-largest city were laid off.
