The press service of the national park "Curonian Spit" reported that from March 30, the field hospital of the Rybachy biostation will begin to receive visitors. It was named after the most common finch bird on the Curonian Spit – "Fringilla".
Both organized and combined groups of tourists will be able to visit the hospital. During the tour, ornithologists from the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences will tell the story of ornithological research on the Curonian Spit and demonstrate the entire process of banding and examining a captured bird. Tourists will also be able to see the large fishing traps, designed in 1956 to catch birds.
