G20 Tourism ministers promised to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on global tourism, according to European media.
Travel restrictions imposed in States to curb the spread of coronavirus infection have severely affected international tourism, which according to the Organization for economic cooperation and development (OECD), will decline by 45% this year.
G20 Tourism ministers pledged, in particular, to coordinate measures to lift travel restrictions and support the economic recovery of the tourism sector.
According to G20 experts, the COVID-19 pandemic has put at risk up to 75 million jobs in tourism services.
