This year, the EKOstars program was launched in Bulgaria, organized by a packaging materials manufacturing company. The main objective of the campaign is to preserve natural resources through the recycling of aluminum and plastic. The organizers urge everyone to take part in the competition for the honorary title of "Star of the Green Walk of Fame".

To participate in the ecoprogram, you must register your organization on the ecopack website.bg and get containers for separate garbage collection. Container delivery, as well as the removal of collected waste, is carried out by the organizers completely free of charge.

Restaurants, educational institutions and sports clubs of the country have already joined the program. The most active regions were Plovdiv, Sofia, Burgas and Velingrad.

The "Stars of the Green Walk of Fame" are determined not only by the vote of visitors to establishments that have joined the campaign. The role of each participant is also important, aimed at environmental education of the population. So, the students enthusiastically started collecting plastic bottles and aluminum cans, having learned that a new T-shirt can be made from 5 old plastic bottles, and the computer can work for almost half an hour on the energy saved from recycling several aluminum cans!

Inspired by such imaginative examples, the students of Velingrad collected 900 kg of plastic bottles and aluminum cans. In addition to the honorary title of "eco-champions", the participants of the action are rewarded with eco-jackets and umbrellas made of recycled plastic, as well as sets of bags for separate garbage collection.

The program, which started on July 1, will last until January 31, 2024. Awards are waiting for the most active conservationists.
