The press service of Rosprirodnadzor told about the fate of the bear cub, saved in Altai last year. The baby with an injured paw was found by hunters. He received the necessary treatment and after completing a rehabilitation course was released into the natural environment.

In early May of this year, a bear cub named Toshka was caught on a camera trap in the Altai Nature Reserve. He was recognized by his characteristic light color. The young predator was recorded near the place where he was released into the wild.

Toshka was distinguished by his restless nature, which, according to experts, helped him successfully adapt to nature and find his place in the ecosystem of the reserve.

Before being released into the wild, Toshka underwent rehabilitation in a special shelter for orphaned bear cubs of the Altai State Reserve. At that time, he could not independently get food and could die without the help of specialists.

The news of Toshka getting into the pictures from the photo traps proved the effectiveness of the method of rehabilitation and release of orphaned bear cubs.

"Inspectors of the South-Siberian Directorate will continue to monitor the fate of the bear cub only if he accidentally gets into the camera trap again or appears to a person. No other intervention in the fate of the predator is expected, he will survive further without human help, as befits a wild animal," the statement says.
