China’s inaugural major cruise ship, the Adora Magic City, was named in Shanghai, and the construction has commenced on a sister ship for its owner, Adora Cruises.
With a gross tonnage of 135,500, the Adora Magic City spans 323.6 meters and accommodates up to 5,246 passengers across 2,125 cabins. Beyond its 26 restaurants and bars, the vessel boasts an onboard brewery offering an extensive selection of freshly crafted beers and a vast retail space selling duty-free goods from globally renowned brands.The vessel’s design includes a 40,000-square-meter communal living and leisure space, demonstrating China’s advanced capability to construct sophisticated cruise ships.
For entertainment, Adora Cruises has partnered with China’s premier comedy production company, Mahua FunAge, to bring live comedy theatre onboard, while Bloks – China’s authentic building block brand – offers the AI-STEAM Exploration Camp at Sea, providing programs involving games, activities, competitions, and a free-play zone.
