An asphalt road to the famous Khalaktyrsky beach with volcanic sand is being built in Kamchatka. This tourist attraction is located on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, 15 km from the capital of the region - Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The new highway, which will go to the beach from the village of Zaozerny, is planned to be introduced by the end of 2024. This was announced by the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (KRDV) on its website.
"Very soon, travelers will be able to get to the legendary coast in just half an hour directly from the capital of the region," said Hasan Hasanbalayev, executive director of the KRDV, whose words are quoted in the message.
The new highway will have a length of 4.5 km, the width of the roadway will be 7 m. Culverts will be installed along the entire length of the road, and in addition, one bridge will be built. Then the highway will be paved, and parking will be arranged at the end of the road at the exit to the beach.
Halaktyrsky beach is popular with tourists due to the black sand and the panorama of three volcanoes - Koryaksky, Avachinsky and Kozelsky.
Black sand is the result of volcanic eruptions. It consists of particles of solidified lava treated and crushed by the waters of mountain rivers and the Pacific Ocean.
The length of the beach is over 30 km, and there are many surf spots on the shore.
