The project to create a year-round resort on the territory of the former Gorskaya construction site in St. Petersburg was discussed at a meeting held by Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin and Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko. This was announced on its website by the city administration on the Neva River.
"The goal of the project is to create a year-round seaside resort in Gorskaya Federal with an all-season swimming pool, water attractions and hotel rooms of various classes," the message says.
The authorities of St. Petersburg note the high investment potential of the project and expect that the new resort will become a center of attraction for residents of the city and guests from other regions.
According to the administration, this year at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum a mock-up of the development of the territory of the future tourist cluster was presented. It is planned to create sports and hotel infrastructure facilities and recreational spaces there. The project also includes the development of the coastal strip of the Neva Bay, the construction of embankments and a number of other works. In addition, it is planned to organize an educational tourism space.
"Work is currently underway to involve the Gorskaya site in investment turnover. Between the Investment Committee, "Tourism Corporation.Russian Federation" and "St. Petersburg Yacht Club‑St. Petersburg" signed a roadmap for the implementation of the project. The investor has been provided with a land plot for the construction of a water sports facility.
In the General Plan of St. Petersburg‑St. Petersburg has made the necessary changes that will allow the creation of cluster facilities," the administration noted.
