The press service of the national Park "Krasnoyarsk Pillars" reported that now there are 227 species of birds on the territory of the protected areas. This year, a large cormorant repeatedly appeared over the Manoy River, although it has not previously been found in this territory.

Scientists note that the cormorant did not nest in the national park, but was spotted on the autumn flight. Now there is a settlement of this species to the north. Usually the cormorant in Siberia nested in more southern territories in the steppes and forest-steppes.

Experts admit that regular flights of this bird in the Mana area are possible in the future. Over the past three years, it began to appear often in the fall on a flight along the rivers of Central Siberia. If more individuals of this species can be recorded next year, then there will be a pattern of expanding the boundaries of the autumn migration of this bird.

A large cormorant is a large bird. In flight, it can be confused with a wild goose. The wingspan of this bird can reach up to one and a half meters. Its main delicacy is fish.
