Within the framework of the MITT International Tourism and Hospitality Exhibition, representatives of six regions of Siberia and the Far East signed a comprehensive plan for the development of tourism on the Baikal-Amur Mainline ("BAM tourist"). In particular, within the framework of the project, it is planned to create two national tourist routes - "West BAM" and "East BAM". This was announced on its website by the Tourism Agency of the Irkutsk region.
"BAM has a huge potential for creating a national tourist route in the region, combining several areas of tourism: natural, ecological, cultural, historical and industrial. Irkutsk land is rich in unusual museums, creative public spaces, interesting and informative industrial sites, unique natural monuments," the agency quotes its head Evgenia Naidenova.
According to her, it is also planned to create a river tourist route "From Irkutsk HPP to Bratskaya HPP", which will become the hallmark of BAM Tourist.
As noted in the agency, in 2024 BAM turns 50 years old, "and the project is designed to tell about the labor feat of the Soviet people, the modern significance of the highway and the beauty of the surrounding nature."
