New selection criteria for participation in the project came into force at the start of the formation of volunteer detachments of the third field season.

The press service of the project reported that the new requirements will multiply the effectiveness of the project in all areas, including communication and scientific and educational activities.

Now, in order to be guaranteed to get into the ranks of volunteers and take part in the cleaning of the Russian Arctic, it is not enough to have only the desire and the corresponding physical data. Everyone who wants to go on an expedition must have encyclopedic knowledge, be able to organize and conduct educational meetings, be an expert in volunteering and have a number of other useful skills.

Andrey Nagibin, head of the Clean Arctic project office, said that the third field season will have several qualitatively new differences from the previous two. According to him, the project has become officially international and is developing in the right direction.

“We are vigorously developing the scientific and educational direction, and at the end of last year we even managed to organize the country’s main Arctic Christmas tree in Murmansk. The list of Clean Arctic victories can be long,” he said.

"This gives us confidence that the general cleaning of the Far North will only expand and we will quickly restore order in our northern lands," Nagibin added.
