Promstroyengineering company was chosen as the contractor for the construction of the Arctic Museum of Modern Art (AMMA) in Norilsk.

According to Norilsk Nickel, which is financing the project, the builders have already started preparatory work.

The total cost of the works under the competition amounted to 177 million rubles.

"We are not creating a museum of a local or even federal nature. This is an application for world leadership in the Arctic in the field of art and museum business. This is a global museum of reflections on human life in the Arctic through art," said Natalia Fedyanina, Director of the Norilsk Museum.

"The building has special characteristics. For example, "all the memory of our city" will be placed inside the museum, which visitors and artists will be able to get acquainted with in open storage. We are talking about the collection of the Museum of Norilsk, which today amounts to 80,000 items, and in the future, the project includes the growth of funds up to 100,000."

AMMA is one of the most futuristic flagship renovation projects in Norilsk. Under the roof of the museum there will be not only modern exhibition halls, but also a comfortable zone of hospitality and intellectual leisure, which will be interesting for both adults and children.

It is planned to complete the creation of working documentation at the end of 2024, and the museum should meet the first visitors in 2026, ttelegraf.ru writes.
