An advertising and information tour for representatives of the tourism industry and the media of India, organized by the regional Center for Tourism and Culture Development, has ended in the Arkhangelsk region.
During three days, the guests went on a sightseeing tour of Arkhangelsk, visited the Borisov Museum of the Artistic Development of the Arctic, the territories of the Maly Korely Museum-Reserve and the Golubino Cultural and landscape Park. The guests also got acquainted with northern cuisine.
"Our region has good partnerships with India: more than a thousand students study in Arkhangelsk, joint projects are being implemented at shipyards in the Arkhangelsk region, citizens will learn about the traditions of India as part of the Days of Indian Culture in Arkhangelsk," said Anna Tyutrina, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Arkhangelsk Region for Tourism. "Now we are showing the Russian North and the Arctic latitudes to Indian partners to attract tourists to our region."
As part of the promotional tour, Indian guests met with representatives of the Arkhangelsk tourism business, who presented winter and active tours of the Arkhangelsk region, as well as opportunities for ecological, water and Arctic tourism.
Indian tour operators have shown the greatest interest in active winter tours, snowmobiling and tours of the Northern Lights.
Director of Salvia Promoters Pvt. Ltd. Prashant Chaudhary reported that in 2023 about 29 million Indians had a vacation abroad.
"In India more than 65% of the population is under 35 years old, so individual and family tourism is developed in the country. Moscow and St. Petersburg are popular, but we want to promote Arkhangelsk in the Indian market as well," Chaudhary said.
Following the meeting cooperation agreements were signed between the Center for Tourism and Culture Development of the Arkhangelsk Region and Salvia Promoters Pvt. Ltd, the press center of the government of the Arkhangelsk region reported.
