The press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources reported that four mobile housing complexes were delivered to the remote cordons of the "Medvezhy Islands" reserve, located in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Now the staff of the cordons "Agafonovo", "Chetyrekstolbovy", "Krestovsky" and "Emeskeveem" will be able to live and work in comfortable conditions.
Each modular complex includes several objects: a guest house and an inspector's house, a bathhouse and a garage. All of them are installed on sleds and are capable of withstanding extremely low temperatures and harsh weather conditions. The capacity of the mobile guest house is eight people, the inspector's house is four people. The premises are equipped with modern means of communication, the Internet, television and good living conditions. In the future, it is planned to equip the cordons with rotary windmills and solar panels.
Such a multifunctional network infrastructure has appeared on the protected territory in the Arctic for the first time. The work on the delivery of the facilities began in the middle of last year and was carried out in several stages. The cargo was delivered by water, Arctic off-road and fast ice.
The implementation of the project was carried out within the framework of the "Ecology" national project. Previously, district inspectors were forced to stay in unsuitable premises for several months at a time. Now, thanks to the modern infrastructure, employees will be able to observe polar bears all year round: conduct a spring count of family dens, record the number of bear cubs born, conduct autumn monitoring of the number of polar bears, carry out helicopter observations, and also register traces of the life of other animal species.
