The Murmansk Region has entered the top 5 destinations for health tourism in the North-Western Federal District, according to the Sanatorium-Russia booking portal.

According to the results of the first quarter of 2024, the demand for recreation in sanatoriums in the region increased by 1%. 

In 2023, vacationers spent 196,000 nights in sanatoriums in the Murmansk region. The greatest demand fell on health resorts for the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, gastrointestinal tract and cardiology.

These services are traditionally most in demand among vacationers over the age of 55, but the influx of people aged 35-44 is also actively growing. The group of customers aged 45-54 has moved to the third place.
