The all-Russian competition "Amazing and unexplored Arctic" has started. The Lena Pillars National Park invites Russian schoolchildren of grades 7-11 and their leaders to take part in it.
"The winner will have a unique opportunity to visit the Bear Islands State Nature Reserve (Nizhnekolymsky District, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and observe polar bears this autumn," the national park said on its website.
The competition will be held in three stages. At the first stage, it is necessary to prepare a scientific article "Conservation of Arctic biodiversity", dedicated to the issues of nature conservation, the response of Arctic ecosystems to climate change and anthropogenic impact. The deadline is until March 17, 2024.
At the second stage, from April 1 to April 14, participants will work on the scientific research project "The Present and future of the Arctic". The projects will be defended on April 19.
The third stage will be the creation of a video on the topic "Arctic tourism. Development prospects" (from 6 to 24 May).
The results of the competition are scheduled for May 31.

The joint exhibition "The Svalbard Archipelago in the 21st Century" of the Barentsburg Museum and the Arktikugol Trust is being held at the Russian State Museum of the Arctic and Antarctic in St. Petersburg
