Eco-action "Peculiarities of the National Cleaning" of the "KOMPAS" Foundation was held in Makhachkala on June 25. More than 700 people took part in the eco-subbotnik, the press service of the foundation reports. In total, about 3 tons of garbage were collected.
Members of the Russian Wrestling Federation helped organize the subbotnik. Before the cleaning, the wrestlers held a warm-up for the participants of the event, and then, together with everyone else, they collected garbage on the Lunar Coast beach. The athletes stayed in Dagestan after the Russian freestyle wrestling championship to support the "Peculiarities of the National Cleaning", said the head of the Russian women's freestyle wrestling team, European champion, Natalia Golts.
“Dagestan is one of the most picturesque places in Russia. And this is the "mecca" of sports - there is a huge number of wrestlers and the largest number of Olympic medals in the world per republic. People come here to train from all over the world. Tourism began to develop actively. I really want it to be clean here, so that we can all admire the beauty of nature,” said the athlete.
State Duma deputy from Dagestan Artem Bichaev thanked the participants of the eco-action: “We can expect that the state will do it for us – the mayor's office, officials, someone else. But first of all, this is our job - not to litter, and if someone irresponsible has littered, clean up after him. Thanks to each of you for your work."
The ecological holiday ended with the world-famous lezginka performed by children's dance groups and demonstration performances of wrestlers.
The action "Peculiarities of the National Cleaning" will last in the cities of Russia until October inclusive. The objectives of the project are to unite people through love for nature, increase eco-culture, achieve goals within the framework of the national project "Ecology".
