Since 2021, the Rosa Khutor Walk of Fame has been decorated with 25 medals of Russian Olympic athletes.
Galina Kulakova is a true legend of Russian sports. The secret of her victories and longevity lies not only in her talent, but also in hard work on herself. According to the athlete, in life she always adheres to one motto: "Do not feel sorry for yourself, you need to overcome yourself, and the result will definitely come!". As Galina Kulakova notes: "In my homeland (the Udmurt Republic), a museum, a sports and recreation ski complex, a monument, a street was named in my honor, etc. The installation of a personal medal on the territory of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi is an important event for me, another recognition of my contribution to the development of Soviet sports."
Victor of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Honored Master of Sports of Russia Vic Wild visited the mountain resort and personally unveiled his medal. His story is unique, he became the only snowboarder to win two gold medals at the same Games and so far the only representative of the Russian national team in history with the status of Olympic champion. As Vic Wilde noted at the ceremony: "For me, Rosa Khutor is one of the best resorts in the world. Today, a decade after the Games, I still feel the spirit of the Olympics here. I see how the resort is growing and developing. It is known not only for its beautiful nature, but also for very good infrastructure, excellent slopes and trails. I feel very free and I like spending time here. Rosa Khutor is a place where I can snowboard, where I am happy. The unveiling of my personal medal on the Walk of Fame is a great honor. After all, it was here that my life changed dramatically, and I became a two-time Olympic champion. It was my childhood dream to participate in the Olympic Games. Since I was 10 years old, I have worked hard to make it happen. It was sport that helped me in my youth to find one of the main life goals and become the best version of myself. I am very pleased that the resort appreciates my sporting achievements so much."
