The results of the second stage of the expedition, which took place in the regions ща Norilsk Nickel operations, will be presented in Zaryadye Park. The scientific group is ready to present to the public the results of the second stage of the expedition, which was devoted to a deeper study of the company's impact on biodiversity: correcting impact zones, studying the behavior of heavy metals in rock dumps, using molecular genetic and phytochemical methods to diagnose biodiversity, clarifying indicators for calculating the integrated indicator of ecosystem status (IPSE), as well as presenting further plans on the necessary steps to address the challenges of biodiversity conservation in these regions. A large scientific expedition to study biodiversity, conducted by the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Mining and Metallurgical Company Norilsk Nickel, covered three regions of Norilsk Nickel's presence - the Trans—Baikal and Krasnoyarsk Territories, and the Murmansk Region. As a result of this work, scientists were able to assess the current state of animal and plant biodiversity and identified negative factors and threats from industrial facilities.

The expedition was carried out in 2022-2023. On February 20 at 14:30 at the scientific and educational center "Reserved Embassy" of Zaryadye Park (Varvarka str., d. 6, p. 1,) a presentation on the topic "Business participation in biodiversity conservation: the results of the second stage of the scientific expedition of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Norilsk Nickel" will be held.

It was organized by the Commission of the Public Chamber of Russia (OP RF) on Ecology and Sustainable Development.
