Zabaykalsky Krai and Norilsk Nickel are joining forces to develop the region. A new cooperation agreement opens up new prospects for the development of Zabaykalsky Krai. Among the priority areas are the preservation of cultural heritage and the support of the younger generation.

This agreement, valid until 2029 and signed by Vladimir Potanin, President of Norilsk Nickel, and Alexander Osipov, Governor of Zabaykalsky Krai, continues the successful partnership that began several years ago.

Among the programs is the relocation of the Decembrists Museum, which will be a significant event for the cultural life of the region. The new museum will preserve and popularize the historical heritage, attracting tourists and residents of the region.

Another important project is the development of youth hockey, which will identify and support young talents and promote a healthy lifestyle among the younger generation.

Vladimir Potanin, President of Norilsk Nickel, emphasized that the company intends to continue actively developing its Zabaykalsky division, increasing its contribution to the region's economy and social sphere.

"Our Zabaykalsky asset is one of the most successful enterprises in Russia, new, efficient and safe. And today it is one of the largest taxpayers and employers in the region. We were able to achieve such success thanks in part to the active position of the regional authorities, who listen to business and do a lot to support it. I have no doubt that in these conditions all our plans for the development of the Zabaykalsky division will be implemented, and Norilsk Nickel's contribution to the economy and social development of the region will become even more significant," he said.

Alexander Osipov, Governor of Zabaykalsky Krai, noted the effectiveness of public-private partnership and expressed confidence in further successful cooperation.

"In the field of social partnership, we have been working with Norilsk Nickel for more than six years, and during this time the company has proven that it is serious and responsible. Public-private partnership is an effective mechanism thanks to which, through joint efforts, a number of unique projects for the development of Zabaykalsky Krai have been implemented. Together with Norilsk Nickel, we will continue to promote the development of the industrial potential of Zabaykalsky Krai and the growth of its economy," Alexander Osipov commented on the cooperation agreement.
