If the infrastructure in specially protected natural areas develops and is in demand among Russians, then this will also attract foreigners, said the head of the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation Zarina Doguzova during a press conference on the completion of the All-Russian competition for the creation of tourist and recreational clusters and the development of ecotourism in Russia.

“I would like to open the country for our citizens, and if we develop the infrastructure systematically, and it will be in demand among our citizens, then foreigners will definitely come to us. Another thing is that the most expensive types of ecological tourism are in greatest demand, of course, among foreigners. We now need to move from tender procedures as soon as possible to the practical implementation of these projects,” she said.

According to her, at this stage еру work on the development of eco-clusters will be maximally focused on the practical implementation of all these projects.

“Our work will be focused on three main areas: the first is the systemic development of tourism and supporting infrastructure where it is needed, or rather even the creation of conditions for business, the second block of issues will be related to systemic marketing and promotion, because along with the lack of infrastructure tourists just don't know how to get there. And the third block of questions is the removal of legislative barriers and restrictions,” she added.

These issues are planned to be included in the future national ecotourism project.
