Volunteers to Refurbish "Land of the Leopard" Ecotrails

The press service of the "Land of the Leopard" National Park reported that a volunteer camp of Vladimir Potanin Foundation scholars will help refurbish tourist facilities within the protected area.

A team of nine volunteers, comprising students and teachers from leading Russian universities, will arrive in Primorsky Krai.The volunteer program is part of the "Reserve Ambassador School," with the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation as a partner.

Volunteers will not only work to support nature conservation efforts, but also learn a great deal about the habitat of one of the rarest wild cats on earth.Work will take place along the "Leopard Trail" and at the Central Farmhouse recreation area. Volunteers will repaint information stands, signposts, fences, and bridges, as well as interactive elements of excursion and viewing platforms.

The "Land of the Leopard" provides all necessary materials, tools, and equipment for the volunteers.Specialists from the national park conducted informative tours for the volunteers. Additionally, volunteers had the opportunity to get acquainted with the rare predator through images from the "Land of the Leopard" automated cameras.

According to the press service, anyone interested can join the effort to weed saplings for the restoration of valuable coniferous tree populations from August 10 to 20. Furthermore, volunteers are welcome from early July to late August to help ensure the nature reserve regime in Astafyev and Tel'akovsky bays, as well as the Popov Island's Border Bay.
