A volunteer eco-shift was opened within the framework of the "Poneslos" eco-marathon. The opening took place on September 25, and the ceremonial part took place in the "Hayka" sports hall in Norilsk. This was reported by the Severny Gorod agency.
As part of the marathon, the volunteers played the game “What? Where? When?" and completed the quest on the Aiki stations. After that, the participants of the event carried out volunteer work on the eco-trail of the tourist base "Horizon". Some cleared dead wood, others worked to create an unusual sculpture. Now the guests of the camp site are greeted by a plank deer.
The purpose of the event was to educate the public about sustainable development and how important it is to adhere to the principles in eco-volunteering.
“Sustainable development is when the needs of the present generation are met without compromising the future. Sustainable development is when the main areas of our life remain in balance: ecology, society and economy. When we grow economically, we have all the social guarantees, but at the same time we do not harm nature,” said Ekaterina Baranova, an environmental expert from Saratov.
The 2021 Eco-marathon started on June 12. This season was attended by 350 people. This is the sixth gathering of all those who are not indifferent to nature.
