In the early days of spring 2021, a large number of visitors from all over the country arrived at Tay Thien Scenic Relic Site and pray for a peaceful and lucky new year, according to Vinh Phuc Newspaper.
The Management Board of Tay Thien Scenic Relic Site, Tay Thien Cable Car Management Board, the Health Sector and the local authorities have taken huge measures to prevent COVID-19 infections from spreading in the community. In particular, they place the epidemiological inspection tables, conduct body temperature measurements, and provide masks and hand-washing for visitors at all temples and places where rituals take place.
Tay Thien Scenic Relic Site located in Tam Dao District, Vinh Phuc Province, about 70km northwest of Ha Noi Capital, is an integrated cultural tourism complex, recognized as the Special National Relic Site since 2016. According to legend, the name Tay Thien means "where Tay Thien monks (India) practice", and is placed to remember the first congregation coming from India to Viet Nam to evangelize.
Tay Thien Scenic Relic Site is nestled in the basin of Tam Dao primaeval forest. Tay Thien is known for its ancient religious buildings, such as pagodas, temples, as well as beautiful forests, streams, waterfalls, and mountains. Tay Thien is said to be a cradle of Vietnamese Buddhism, and also a place for worshipping Lady Lang Thi Tieu, who made great contributions to national defence, peace, and agricultural development during the dynasty of Hung Kings and then she was honoured as National Mother (Quoc Mau Tay Thien).
