Two Modern Resorts to be Created in Kem and Belomorsk, Karelia

The Head of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov presented the potential of the Kemsko-Belomorsk agglomeration to investors. The presentation took place as part of the Arctic Day discussion organized by VEB.RF at the site of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. This was reported by the official portal of Karelia.

One of the areas of development of the agglomeration in the next 10 years will be the unlocking of the tourism potential of the White Sea.

"On the Karelian coast of the White Sea, it is planned to build two modern resorts - an all-season resort in Kem and an Aquathermal hotel complex in Belomorsk," the message says.

In addition, it is planned to build a Sea Trade Port in Belomorsk, an airport in Poduzhemie, and a modern sea station with a marina for private vessels in the village of Rabocheostrovsk (Kemskiy District), from where tourists go to the Solovetsky archipelago.

Other points of development of the agglomeration will be the creation of a transport and logistics center with access to the Northern Sea Route, the extraction of natural resources and their processing.

The Kemsko-Belomorsk agglomeration is included in the list of settlements that serve as a center for the development of a certain territory of the Russian Arctic. Karelia is preparing a master plan for its development together with VEB.RF. The main goal of this work is to improve the quality of life of the population.
