Two children from Russia died today in Thailand. The tragedy occurred as two boats with tourists collided off the coast of Phuket.
Thai police say that at about 8:15 local time, there were two speed boats in the canal and one with Russian tourists on board. In total, there were about 40 people. Crew members were not injured.
20 Russian citizens were taken to hospitals. The Russian embassy confirmed the information about the state of emergency. They said that the victims were siblings - a brother and a sister of 12 and 6 years. They came from the Chelyabinsk region.
Police are investigating the cause of the collision.
