A rich program awaits residents and guests, events will be held in all regions of the republic. Traditionally, the festival was held for one or two days, and this year it will be held in a new format and last a month, the organizers say.
“The Tulip Festival has been held since 2013 and attracts a large number of tourists. Many travel to the steppe region to connect with nature and see firsthand the flowering of wild Gesner (Schrenk) tulips. They are listed in the Red Book.
The flowering period begins in April and lasts about a month. The main idea of the festival is the preservation of Red Book tulips and the popularization of Kalmyk culture,” the festival organizers report on the event’s website.
Guests will have the opportunity to take part in master classes in Kalmyk dances, ride attractions, visit fairs of local products, and a food court.
The program also includes archery demonstrations, an ethno-rave show, a procession in national costumes, a gastronomic festival, various concerts, exhibitions and theatrical performances, ethnographic, sports and environmental events during which you can get acquainted with Kalmyk traditions and culture.
