Kamchatka Governor Vladimir Solodov has directed that measures to enhance tourist safety be intensified during an operational meeting. The region will implement a system to track the number of registered groups and the individuals on tourist routes. This data, alongside weather conditions, will be taken into account when assessing the safety of tourists.
According to a statement on the official portal of Kamchatka, pre-registration of routes significantly reduces the risk of crises during travels.
"Any tourist group or individual intending to embark on a route must register and receive advice regarding the route and equipment selection," the message states.
The press service also reminded that a federal draft law is currently under discussion, which proposes fines for tourist groups that do not have a registered route. This legislation could be enacted as early as this autumn.
