According to the head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov, Russia and Azerbaijan have every opportunity to expand the existing partnership.

The Minister of Economic Development of Russia, during a working trip to Azerbaijan, said that in the coming years the flow of tourists between Russia and Azerbaijan could double.

He said that in the Russian region neighboring Azerbaijan, the Republic of Dagestan, the Kayakent resort will be revived. In addition, coastal zones are being developed in the area of Makhachkala and Kaspiysk.

"The nearest plans include the creation of the Caspian coastal cluster and new border routes for cultural, educational, ethnographic, cruise and yacht tourism for all countries of the Caspian five. On average, about 12 million trips a year are currently carried out between the five countries of the Caspian Sea. Therefore, in the coming years, the flow of tourists between the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan can double," Reshetnikov was quoted as saying by the Interfax-tourism portal.
