It was created on the terrace of the Food Street space and occupied 1,600 square meters. The background for the portrait of the famous artist was his painting "Starry Night". Eleven artists from the Who Art Label team worked on the creation of a giant image of Van Gogh.
- The surrounding mountain landscapes are very in harmony with the work of the artist. But the most amazing thing is that while we were preparing, July 29 came - this is Van Gogh Memorial Day. This is such a mystical coincidence, - explained Anna Petrus, the founder of Who Art Label.
It took the artists three days to create a mountain portrait of Van Gogh. In the first, they vacuumed the concrete area and prepared it for paint application. Then, having drawn on huge squares, they transferred the sketch, checked the drawing with the help of a quadrocopter and started applying paints. On the third day, the drawing was completed.
- It took us 524 kilograms of paint. Especially for the picture, it was made at one of the factories in Izhevsk. The paint had to be concentrated so that it was easier to transport and at the same time it had to cover the concrete well, which absorbs it. In the end, everything worked out. Now everyone can walk around Van Gogh's "Starry Night," Anna Petrus noted.
Thanks to the durability of the colors, the portrait of Van Gogh at the Rosa Khutor resort will last for several months. By the way, at the last stage, everyone who wished to join in its creation. Everyone who watched the creative process could leave their autograph on the picture, and at the same time participate in the record.
“According to our information, this is the largest portrait of Van Gogh in the world, we have collected all the necessary data and submitted applications to the Russian Book of Records and the Guinness Book of Records, we are waiting for confirmation,” said Anna Petrus, founder of Who Art Label.
