The race will take place on 25 and 26 February. It starts in the village of Esso and ends in Ust-Kamchatsk.
The official website of the Kamchatka Territory reports that the route was changed after the organizers faced a number of logistical problems last year. In 2022, the race ended in the village of Ossora, which can only be reached by air and under certain weather conditions.
This year, the start and finish are located at points where anyone can get by car. Race organizers have planned an extensive finish program.
The bid campaign for the race has already ended. To date, 11 mushers have entered the race.
Nevertheless, preparations for Beringia continue. A schedule is now being planned for the stages of the race so that snowmobiles can pre-mark the preferred passage of sections of the route. In addition, the organizers have purchased additional equipment and equipment that may be needed to overcome the most difficult sections of the race.
The dog sled race will be one of the key areas of the Beringia 2023 winter festival, which will cover the whole of Kamchatka.
