This is a record figure for a tourism project. In 2019, 1.8 million people visited the objects of the Golden Ring of the Bosporan Kingdom, and 1.4 million in 2020.
«12 cities of Kuban, Rostov region, Crimea and Sevastopol, united by a common ancient history, take part in the project. It was launched in 2019 at the initiative of the Russian Geographical Society and the Ministry of Resorts, Tourism and Olympic Heritage of the Krasnodar Territory,» said Ivan Chaika, head of the Golden Ring of the Bosporan Kingdom project.
Now the project includes about 40 tourist sites and almost 50 objects of the Wine Roads of the Bosporan Kingdom. There is a route "Sails of the Bosporus", which is aimed at the development of yacht tourism, as well as the route "From the Bosporus to Byzantium", which tells about the birth of Christianity in southern Russia.
