In total, there are five eco-centers in the national park. Moose Biological Station, Arboretum and Tea Party in Mytishchi are located in the Moscow Region, Russian Life and Red Pine are located in Moscow.
The press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources reported that in 2022, the Losiny Ostrov eco-centers increased the influx of visitors by 30%.
Last year, excursions, master classes and other thematic events were attended by 110.6 thousand people.
At the same time, this indicator does not take into account visits to forest parks in recreational areas. This is due to the fact that the entrance to Losiny Ostrov is free, so it is only conditionally possible to determine the total number of visitors to the national park.
The department said that infrastructural transformations are regularly carried out on the territory of tourist clusters.
In 2022, a cafe was opened at the Elk Biological Station, new enclosures for pets were equipped, an interactive multimedia cinema was opened, which provided additional opportunities to expand the tourist flow and the range of thematic events.
“The creation of a new modern infrastructure in recreational areas allows us to regulate the anthropogenic load on the ecosystems of the national park, direct the flow of visitors, and draw attention to environmental education activities,” the report says.
The department added that work on the development of a comfortable environment for a variety of outdoor activities in Losiny Ostrov continues.
Participants discussed the boundary between nature and ecotourism, whether mass visits to unique areas can remain safe, the responsibilities of investors, and how to prepare tourists for visiting specially protected natural areas.
The head of state expressed confidence that the Forum will be held at a high level, and that its results will contribute to the development of tourism in Russia and the expansion of humanitarian and business ties.
