The tourism sector this year replenished the economy of St. Petersburg by more than 250 billion rubles. This is reported by the city tourist portal Visit Petersburg.

“Over 7 million tourists visited St. Petersburg in 11 months of 2022. This is almost a million more than for the whole of last year. The contribution of tourists to the city's economy has also grown. This year, the check of the Russian guest of the Northern capital averaged 44,000 rubles, in the past it was 32,000 rubles,” says the portal.

The Committee for the Development of Tourism of St. Petersburg summed up the preliminary results of a large-scale information campaign to promote the tourism potential of the Northern capital. Banners, digital screens and other advertising media with information about the attractiveness of traveling to the city on the Neva were placed throughout the year in all major cities of Russia and beyond.

The campaign will continue through the winter. In total, more than 20 cities of Russia participate in it, in which 2,300 advertising media are placed.
“Events to promote the tourism potential of St. Petersburg were also carried out on international markets - in the CIS countries and the Middle East. Information materials about St. Petersburg were placed on banners and digital media at airports and on the main highways of Astana, Alma-Ata, Baku, Yerevan, Minsk, Tashkent, as well as in Dubai and Riyadh,” Visit Petersburg reported.

The marketing campaign was synchronized with various business events - roadshows, specialized exhibitions, info tours and workshops for Russian and foreign leaders of travel organizations.
