This will happen due to the replacement of the rolling stock by buses running on methane. According to the Safe High-Quality Roads national project, 51 compressed natural gas buses will arrive in Sochi in 2023-2024.

- A large-scale investment project is being implemented in Sochi, which provides for the development of a gas engine transport infrastructure. Within the framework of the Concept for the development of the production and use of electric motor transport in the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030, fast charging stations for cars are located in the city. All these measures will give a significant impetus to the development of not only environmentally friendly public transport, but also all commercial transportation in the city, - said the head of Sochi Alexei Kopaygorodsky.

Last year, 16 fast charging stations for electric vehicles appeared in Sochi. It is planned to install 18 more in 2023. The current route network of the city of Sochi consists of 123 regular transportation routes. More than 800 public transport units operate on the line daily, including 135 buses running on natural gas fuel.
