Non-working health resorts in Sochi will be restored at the expense of investors. They will be engaged in improving the infrastructure of institutions and increasing the number of rooms, as announced by the head of the city Alexei Kopaigorodsky.
"In Sochi there are establishments, accommodation facilities that we inherited from the Soviet era, which do not work today, we have about 26 such facilities. 11 of them have already signed contracts, acquired by conscientious investors. They will improve the infrastructure of these establishments, improve and increase room fund", - said Alexey Kopaigorodsky.
Agreements have already been signed for the restoration of the Primorskaya, Volna, Vesna, USSR, Krasmashevsky, Yuzhny Bereg, Kosmos, Yugsport, Detstvo, and Stavropolye sanatoriums. After reconstruction, they will continue their work. In addition to "reanimation" of abandoned sanatoriums in Sochi, they plan to build new hotels. The number of rooms in the resort will increase by 25 percent.
"Currently, Sochi has 200 thousand hotel beds, and by 2030 new hotels will be built, which will increase the number of accommodation facilities by 50 thousand," said Svetlana Batyaykina, Director of the Resorts and Tourism Department of the Sochi Administration.
The hotels will be built by large international-class chain hoteliers. A project for the construction of new hotels in the Lazarevsky district of the resort has already been developed.
"According to the analysis of booking, the summer high season in Sochi will be loaded not only in the coastal, but also in the mountain cluster. Loading this summer will be from 80 to 90 percent, the resort will receive about four million tourists," said Svetlana Batyaykina.
New accommodation facilities will help balance the prices for accommodation in hotels in Sochi, where the demand exceeds supply. After the closure of Turkey, prices for accommodation in 4-5 stars hotels in Sochi increased by 70-90 percent.
